Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we do with it, and who else sees it — including the part where we share your details with the professional you ask to be introduced to.

A note on this page. This is a starting template and not legal advice — have counsel review it before you run traffic.

The short version

We collect what you tell us. We use it to send you what you asked for and, if you request an introduction, to make that introduction. If you ask to speak with someone, your information is shared with the licensed professional you are introduced to — that is the purpose of the introduction. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

The rest of this page is the detail.

Who we are

This site is operated by SageByte LLC ("MyFederalFuture", "we", "us"), a private company. Contact: hello@myfederalfuture.com.

What we collect

  • Readiness-check answers. What you tell us about your federal service, your retirement system, your timeline, and roughly where your TSP sits. Ranges, not exact figures.
  • Contact details. Your name, email address, phone number, and state, if you provide them.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us, we have your email.
  • Technical and usage data. Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and similar. See the cookies section below.

What we do not ask for. We do not ask for your TSP account number, your Social Security number, your login credentials, or your exact balance. Please do not send them to us. If you send sensitive information we have not asked for, we will delete it.

How we use it

  • To show you your readiness-check results and send you the educational material you requested.
  • To make an introduction to a licensed professional, if you ask for one.
  • To contact you about that introduction, where you have consented.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the site, and to understand which content is useful.
  • To measure our advertising.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

Who we share it with

Being direct about this, because it is the part that matters:

  • The licensed professional you are introduced to. If you request to speak with someone, we share your readiness-check answers and your contact details with the state-licensed insurance professional we introduce you to. They are independent of us and, once your information reaches them, they handle it under their own privacy practices, not ours. They have paid us a referral fee for the introduction. If you would rather this did not happen, do not request an introduction — everything else on this site is free to read without it.
  • Service providers. Companies that host our site, deliver our email, and provide analytics, acting on our instructions.
  • Advertising platforms. In aggregate or hashed form, to measure and target advertising. See cookies below.
  • Legal. Where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
  • A successor. If the business is sold or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Note, though, that our referral-fee model means we are paid for making an introduction that involves sharing your details with the professional. Under some state privacy laws, sharing of this kind may be treated as a "sale" or as "sharing" for targeted advertising, regardless of how we characterise it. We would rather you understood the arrangement than relied on the label.

Marketing consent and SMS

If you give consent, we or the professional you are introduced to may contact you by phone, email, or text message about your TSP Readiness Review.

  • Consent is not a condition of anything. Not of taking the readiness check, not of seeing your results, not of reading anything on this site, and not of any purchase.
  • Reply STOP to opt out of text messages at any time. Reply HELP for help.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any message, or email us.
  • To be removed entirely, email hello@myfederalfuture.com.

Opting out with us does not automatically opt you out with a professional you have already been introduced to — they are a separate company and you will need to tell them directly. We will help if you ask.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the site, remember your progress through the readiness check, measure traffic, and understand which of our advertising works.

This includes third-party advertising and analytics pixels, such as the Meta (Facebook) pixel. These allow platforms to recognise visits to this site and to show and measure advertising, including to people who have visited before. Those platforms are separate controllers of the data they collect and handle it under their own policies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may not work correctly if you do. Advertising platforms also offer their own ad-preference controls. Where required, we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed for the purposes above, and to meet legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations. Where we have made an introduction, we retain a record of it. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. We cannot delete information already shared with a professional on your request — you would need to ask them directly.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of targeted advertising or "sale"/"sharing", and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email hello@myfederalfuture.com with what you would like us to do. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the time your law allows. You may use an authorised agent where permitted.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Children

This site is intended for adults, specifically current and former federal employees. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
